Since it's been a while, I thought I'd post again. Since the shots are basic B&W, I'll leave this post basic. No one is interested in Jen or my opinions anyway.

Pneumonia and Easter

I've had pneumonia so I've been unable to post for a while. The meds are worse than the illness by the way. I'm better so it's time to make another post.

Here are some pictures of Sam from Easter. He liked the grass more than the eggs. Hopefully that is a phase and he isn't stashing the lorapetalum under his crib. Of course, if he was smoking lorapetalum he'd probably be sleeping better.

Just a thought on Easter.....Why do we celebrate Easter on the equinox when John's gospel seems to be clear that the triumphal entry into Jerusalem was the week of Passover?

Who else needs a vacation?

The Quetico Provincial Park in Canada is why this blog was so named. So I thought I would explain that a bit.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to slow down, calm down and not worry about tomorrow...much less forget about today. I'm trying to trust what the Book says and not worry. What are we clawing for anyway?....tablescraps from corporate America? How can God fulfill us if our hands are grabbing on to anything we feel we control.

So like good Americans, let us fall back on our favorite addiction: Escapism. Therefore today's post is about the Quetico. A few days of woodsmoke and a quiet place would do this soul some good.

Sam Video

A blog is boring if you don't put something on it. I expect when the new has worn off I'll just post once, maybe twice a week.

I've added a slideshow I put together. Sam wasn't quite 4 months when this was finished.

If I had the words to Hal's prayer for Sam I would post it as well. I may go back and try to compile that prayer for another post. That's another day.

There are some good memories in this video. Considering the first experience, I would say my favorite picture is the heartbeat slide. The pic of Granny and Sam is a close second. The one of both sets of grandparents is third.

I did not intentionally rank family. We all know that Aunt La is Sam's favorite.

First Post (with a pic of Sam)

Jen and I thought we would try a blog to communicate and share pictures of Sam. We'll see how this goes and see if it works for some of you.


Sam is almost 7 months and is ALL BOY! He's into everything. Sean Penn said the difference between good parenting and bad parenting is luck. If we don't let him explore the way his heart leads then we haven't done our job. If he gets hurt then we shouldn't have let him do whatever it was he was doing. I reminded of the song "You Never Let Go" by Matt Redman:
